A week in the life of a missionary!

Hello there!
Things are going great here!
I am loving the warmth and hating it.
Love because it feels fantastic.
Hate because it's only going
to get much much warmer from here.

Stephen!!
He is getting baptized this weekend!
He goes on and off of showing interest.
But he is really excited about getting baptized!
We are excited!!
He had his interview and passed,
so Saturday it is!
Andd....
drumroll.........
JOHNNY IS BAPTIZING HIM!

Johnny.
He got the priesthood on Sunday!
It was really awesome to see!
And he wore a suit!
He never wears a suit!
We are pretty ecstatic over here!
We joked about it because after
Stephen's interview they went home and ate.
And then the suit wouldn't button anymore...
We told him maybe he should go shop for a new suit.

Stephanie.
She's doing well.
She told us that she believed
that all churches had bits of the truth.
And we are sitting there like...
HELLO! WE BELIEVE THAT!
So we are really excited about her.
She is doing well!
And we are set to meet with her again this week.

David Haynes.
Not sure what's up with him.
He believes EVERYTHING.
He doesn't like the Word of Wisdom.
But he could give coffee up.
He doesn't drink much,
and he said he could give it up.
He just doesn't want to join the church,
so he's not going to give up his coffee.

David Enrique.
He has to be one of my new favorite people.
We send out scripture texts every day.
And he always has the best responses.
I would send some,
but I don't have time to pick the best one.
He is great though!
And we are teaching him the Restoration tonight!

Dragonboat race.
On Saturday we went to make our presence known.
And talk to some people as well.
We went down to Tempe Town Lake.
It sounds like it's out of the mission,
but the lake splits the mission.
We went and I worked on my tan ANDDD
did missionary work.
So it was good for me.
We also got funnel cake.
Sister R had never had it!!
Can you believe that??
We used to have that ALL
the time at Dollywood!
So I relived fond memories this weekend.

All is well in the Coronado Ward of Arizona.
Transfers are next week,
So Preparation day will be Wednesday this week.
I am going to hate this next week.
Mainly because I don't do well with not knowing
what's happening with me.
But I guess I'll survive.
I'll let you know next week what transfers hold for me!

LOVE YALL!
Have a fantastic week!

17 March 2014

Hey family!
Short one.
Sorry.
I need better email time management.
This week was great!

We had zone conference.
Which was great.
I didn't even go into it with a good attitude.
And it was great!
I was anticipating it to be boring.
It was a 4 hour meeting...
But it was great!
We talked about consecration.
And I feel like I have so much to give still.
We are trying our hardest.
So hopefully it's enough!

Stephen and Jasmine.
We taught them the Restoration.
It went great.
Jasmine said the opening prayer.
I could tell she was struggling
and someone was helping her.
And I knew it wasn't Johnny.
So I opened my eyes....
and it was Stephen!!
All of our other lessons got cancelled....
So we're not sure if Jasmine will
be ready for baptism on the 29th.
But we think Stephen will be.
So keep him in your prayers!

We went on exchanges this week.
I went with Sister Carroll again.
It was a blast!
I love her!
We were on bike.
And I didn't wear sunscreen.
I got super sunburnt.
I am tan now though.
So I guess it was kind of worth it.
And improved my watch tan.
So that was great!
I am proud of that tan.
I'll have to send a picture next week.
Once we've biked more.
We aren't doing well with
miles management either.
So we'll be biking.
Which is okay with me.
Makes me feel skinnier.

I am going on exchanges tonight.
With Sister Lords.
Which I am excited about.
Because I love her.
She and I are super similar.
So we get along very well.
It should be a great day!

I think we are getting iPads soon.
We have some people coming
from Salt Lake next week.
And I think they are training the
leadership/future leadership on it.
So we'll see!
I am hoping for it.
Maybe we'll get them at transfer meeting.

We hiked Camelback again.
I loved it.
As always.
Who knew hiking would be so great.
There were 10 of us.
And we saw another zone there.
So I got to see 2 of my children,
Sister Brown and Sister Evans!
It was pretty great!

I love you all!
I am so grateful
for everything you do for me!
You people are fantastic!
LOVE YALL!

2. Sister Call and I sat next to each other at zone conference. She sat on my left. Just like at seminary!
3. Sister Lords! She's pretty fantastic!
4. My bread addiction has gotten worse....just kidding. I didn't buy it! It was donated. We're going to give it to people:) Maybe. If it lasts that long.

6. It was really windy and cold...

Another week in Coronado

HELLO FAMILY!
This week has been great!
Every week is great though.
We got to go to the temple this week!
That was a major plus.
I love going to the temple.
I got to see a couple sisters
in the temple from the Mesa mission.
And then we took an investigator
to the VC later that day and I
got to see 4 more!
That was super great!
I loved getting to see everyone.
I may have prayed to see someone I knew...
See Heavenly Father does answer prayers!
I knew it!:)

David.
He was the one we took to the VC.
We watched "On the Lord's Errand."
It's about Thomas S. Monson.
We asked what he thought
and he was like,
"He's definitely a true prophet."
So we're not sure what his hang up is.
Since he believes in everything.
He even came to church yesterday.
So we'll figure it out eventually.
Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Ron & Eddie.
They are interesting.
They accepted baptism last week!
But then this week.
It was all kinds of craziness.

We went to see Ron and he wasn't there.
We were directed to 2 different apartments
to find Eddie.
And the first one...
Eddie wasn't there.
But Dennis was.
He tried to give us hugs right off the bat.
My hair was in a bun
and he asked me how long it was.
And he was like I would like to see it down
sometime, then winked.
He was drunk.
I had been trying to leave.
But I pretty much just walked away after that.
He is God's son,
so we made sure to make an attempt
to share the gospel with him.
he was interested in other things though.
So we headed out.

We eventually found Eddie.
His roommate was high.
So we think he might have been to.
Pretty unsuccessful day.
But a couple days ago we found Ron at home!
So we were able to talk to him
and set up an appointment for tomorrow!
We're excited!
And hoping he still wants to be baptized!

Exchanges!
We got to go on lots of exchanges this week.
It was great!

Sister Entin came with me into our area
(She was concerned at where I was taking her
because she was there for the whole Dennis fiasco.)
She had a doctor's appointment.
And so we went to that.
She had to get a shot.
And when she saw how big the needle was.
SHE RAN!
I was in the lobby.
And she was like
"I need you Sister Hubmann!!"
It was hilarious.
Not for her, but for me it was.
Don't worry, Mom.
I sang Soft Kitty for her, just like you did
for me the last time I had to get a shot.
It was a great day.
Interesting, but great.

I went with Sister Entin(again) and Sister Basham
into their ward, while Sister R took Sister Isert.
They are in a trio, so we're doing 3 exchanges with them.
It was an interesting day as well.
Sister Basham ended up getting sick.
So we stayed in for a while.
But I got to catch up on my journal writing.
So that was a positive.
I definitely needed to do that.

It's been a great week!
Thanks for the package Grandma!!:)
(You know all my favorites. It's almost gone.
Well a good portion. And I ate it alone.)

I hope yall have a superb week!
LOVE YOU!
Sister Hubmann

3 March 2014

HELLO FAMILY!
This week was much better than last!
No stomach bug for this sister!
I was in full recovery by Thursday.
So thank you all for your prayers!
I know I was better much faster
because I am a missionary.
So I guess this was as good time
as any to get the stomach bug.

Johnny.
He's doing great!
He went to the temple dedication yesterday!
It was a great dedication.
Although I think he may have fell asleep for a minute.
He denies it, but it happened.
He leaned over before it started
and said he wanted to baptize Stephen!
So we are REALLY excited about that.
We are hoping for March 22nd.

Ron and Eddie.
Probably my favorites right now.
They are black.
And hilarious.
Eddie has some really great questions.
We met them because we were walking
by to try to contact a potential.
And Ron saw us and yelled at us.
We went and talked.
Set up a return appointment.
And they accepted baptism!!
We set them on date for March 29.

Stephanie.
Sister R and Lords contacted her sister.
Then we went to an appointment with her
and she wasn't there.
But Stephanie was!
We talked to her
and she seemed super interested.
So we are going to meet with her this week.

Exchanges.
THE BEST EXCHANGE EVER.
Sorry sisters.
The others were great.
But this was awesome.
We were having a good day.
It had been rainy all day.
It would be sunny then sprinkle.
Sprinkle and then sunny.
It wasn't too bad.
Our ward mission leader was feeding us at Chipotle.
We went in.
When we left....
IT WAS POURING.

Our bikes were in a huge puddle.
So it was the best night.
We were riding in these big puddles.
One seriously was like 1.5 deep.
No joke.

Sister Lee got splashed by a car too.
It had to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
And she ran into a tree.
But it wasn't raining when that happened.
We street contacted when we were
standing ankle deep in water.
And Sister Lee is an awesome missionary.
So it was a great exchange.

All in all.
Missionary work is going great!
I am going to have the best 5 months ever.

Love yall!
Have a great week!
Sister Hubmann

Pictures:

1. Our bikes after dinner...huge puddle.
2. Did I mention it was my year mark?
I didn't...
That's awkward.
Well it was.
We went to Chickfila in celebration.
And then that night...
BURNED THINGS!
I burned some leggings that
I use while I bike.
I've had them since I came out.
They are nice and holey.
And not the good kind of holy.
3. 1 YEAR!
4. We hit our year mark together!
5. The only part of us that remained dry after exchanges.
6. Sister Lee and I soaked!
7. A little bit of Tennessee made it up the mountain today!
8. Elder Arizona preaching the gospel at sunrise.
Such a good missionary.
