I MET WITH A SEVENTY!!!!

Hey Family!!
This week was nothing but eventful!
We got a new investigator!
His name is Fernando.
He is 19.
Sister Evans got to extend the invitation
to be baptized and....
he accepted!
Pretty cool, right?
We are really excited to keep meeting with him.
He was sick so he had to cancel
(I think Sister Evans got him sick.)
So we're rescheduling!
Sister Evans is better now,
which is what really matters.
Because teaching by yourself is not fun.

We got to meet with someone from the
seventy yesterday!
His name is Elder Teh.
He came up to the mountains and visited
with about 60 missionaries.
He compared hitting a comfort zone
as going into the E.A.C(East Australian Currents)
Yes, the ones on Finding Nemo.
It was really interesting.
I think that often even not as missionaries,
we find ourselves in the EAC.
We aren't doing anything,
we're just along for the ride.
Especially with missioanry work.
That's what I did before my mission.
So I would like to invite all of you to
get out of the EAC!
Go out with the missionaries,
invite your friends and the missionaries over!
President Monson said,
“Now is the time for members and missionaries
to come together, to work together, to labor in the Lord’s vineyard to bring souls
unto Him,” he declared. “He has prepared the means for us to share
the gospel in a multitude of ways,
and He will assist us in our labors if
we will act in faith to fulfill His work.”
We're all in this work together!
There is a statistic that if a member
has lessons in their home with their friends
1 in 4 will get baptized.
And this work isn't about raising church numbers,
it's about helping others come unto Christ!
It's their eternal salvation!

Out of the 60 missionaries,
I had the blessing to have an interview with him!
It was so amazing!
He is such a kind man.
I have to admit,
I was FREAKING out until
I got into the interview with him
But hey,
I'm alive right?
And he got Mom's email to send her a picture of me.
Sorry Dad, I didn't have your's memorized.
That's pretty awesome a SEVENTY is emailing my parents!
Also, there may be some pictures from it on
If that doesn't work, that's what Google is for.

We are going on exchanges this week!
I'm really excited for that!
Mainly because our Sister Training Leader, Sister Sanchez,
lived with me in my first area!
So every time we do exchanges,
we get to reminisce over everything from my
very first transfer!

Oh and Brea is engaged??
Tell everyone Congratulations for me!
I can't believe this is wedding #5
that will happen while I'm on my mission.
It seems like every week I am telling the
sister someone is engaged.
Make sure people send me wedding invites!

I love you all!
Have a great week!
You are the best!
Much love,
Sister Hubmann

DRUMROLL PLEASE!!

Hey Family!
So I have some new for you.
Transfer news.
I know it's what you've all been waiting for.
I AM STAYING!
First. Time. Ever.
Weird, right?
I discovered that transfers are way less stressful
when you aren't getting transferred.
Well the before transfers part.
The rest was still kind of stressful.
I am training a new greenie!
We headed down to the valley on Monday night.
And I got to stay with Sister Wynn!
It was so good to see her again.
We rode down to the valley with our district leader.
We didn't want to use the miles for our car,
and the sisters we lived with were getting a car.
So we brought it back up for them.

My new companion is Sister Evans.
She's from Virginia!
So we are representing the South.
She lives like 15 minutes away from Caleb.
I like her so far.
We haven't really talked a ton because she's sick.
And it hurts for her to talk.
But I think we'll get along well.
Especially because she complimented the Vols.

I am so excited for Regan and Ryan!
Tell them I said congratulations!
It's crazy that everyone is getting married!
I guess that's a sign I'm getting older,
all your friends decide to get married.

This week was pretty good!
We had 2 people come up to us after church
with nonmembers for us to teach.
So we are really excited about that.
Sean and Tatiana are getting married in just a couple weeks!
Then Sean can get baptized!
We're pretty excited about that.
Eli is still truckin along.
They had fire safety week at schools last week,
so we didn't get to meet with him.
But we will this week!

NEWSFLASH!
When we were in the valley,
I got to see Sister Crandall.
And she told me that NANCY GOT BAPTIZED!!
I have a picture of it for y'all.
Well a picture of a picture.
So I'll make sure to send it.
I knew her date was in October,
but I didn't know if it was happening.
And it did!
On Saturday!
Ahhh, it's so great to see people come unto Christ.
It helps me know why I'm here.
I am here to help these people.
The people who don't know.
Or the people who know and have forgotten.
I can see the Lord's hand in my life.
I love being a missionary.
I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

I love y'all and hope you have a great week!
Much love,
Sister Hubmann

Fall has hit!

Hello my family!
Fall has indeed made it up to Taylor!
I am getting pretty cold up here.
I guess that's what happens when you
have been in the valley for so long.
The leaves are changing too!!!
I am so happy I am up in the mountains
to see it happening!

My week has been interesting.
Tuesday was not so great.
One of the worst days of my mission.
We refer to it as The Terrible Tuesday.
We had a lot of appointments,
so we were really excited!
But all of them but one cancelled
and a less active said she didn't want
us to come by anymore, which caused
my poor companion to melt down.
Because she loved that lady so much.
It was an interesting day to say the least.
So get this.
We had Chanda( a YSA) with us then.
And the next night we are going out with
Felicia (another YSA), who happens to be her friend.
And they had gotten together that day
and made us cookies!!
Aren't they the sweetest??
Seriously, you gotta love some people.
And another day Chanda we are talking about the cold.
I was saying how I was already super cold.
And she was telling me I better head back to the valley
because it's only going to get colder from here.
Later that night we get a text asking if we'd
be awake in 10 minutes.
10 minutes later Chanda shows up with little
rice bags you heat up in the microwave.
She said her mom said it was supposed to
be really cold that night,
so she made them for us!

Other news:
We are getting technology into our mission!
We can do family history work now.
Facebook in November or December.
And iPad Minis by February.
We are one of like 10 missions in this area
that's getting them, so that's pretty cool.
The work is moving quickly!
In a way I didn't expect to happen to me on my mission.
I'm very excited though!
We all are.

Conference was so great!!

I loved it so much.
There were so many great things said.
Can you believe there are 80,333 missionaries?!?
That is so amazing!!
I was pretty surprised they didn't announce a temple though.
I always keep crossing my fingers for a Knoxville temple.
I'll keep praying for y'all to get one!
There's always next conference, right?

We now have 2 investigators with baptism dates!
Eli, who has had several, picked Nov 2!
We are hoping he sticks to it because
he set it for himself.
Sean set his for Nov. 9!
Just a week after he and Tatiana get married!
The work is moving forward here
and I am grateful to be able to witness it.
I know none of this would be possible without the Lord.
It's such a blessing to be able to serve a mission!

I love y'all!
Have an amazing week!
Love,
Sister Hubmann
